Using a translational rhesus macaque model; we show that first-trimester Zi.ka virus exposure leads to altered social-emotional development and impaired cortical visual
function in infancy – regardless of maternal viremia duration prior dengue im:munity or viral lineage. These findings highlight that maternal biomarkers alone are insufficient to predict developmental risk and underscore the need tor infant-focused neurodevelopmental assessments in evaluating maternal interventions.
